Wyse Project "Pyramid"–not a scam I hope?
I just read about Wyse’s project Pyramid. When I read the description, it sounds like the big deal is self-configuring Thin Clients (oh yeah from the cloud). I sincerely hope there is more to it than that or Wyse might have chosen that name more wisely than most would think…..
Here’s what the press release says. @Wyse: I hope I am wrong. Feel free to enlighten me. I really hope this isn’t a press release on a Wyse Thin Client using DNS and FTP to download a config file and maybe some firmware because if it is, is has been around for over 5 years!
Wyse Technology, the global leader in cloud client computing, today announced its preview of Project "Pyramid", an innovative self-configuring client technology for the VDI industry.
At Cisco Live in London, Wyse previewed a new software technology named Project Pyramid which brings unprecedented simplicity to the management of virtual desktops. Project Pyramid will enable Wyse to deliver an innovative self-configuring client product line in the desktop virtualization industry. Project Pyramid automates the deployment of Wyse thin clients throughout a private cloud or server, whether the deployment entails ten devices or tens of thousands of them. This management software is so innovative that Wyse has filed multiple patents on the technology.
