Quest vWorkspace Rapid Provisioning of Hyper-V Virtual Desktops
Quest vWorkspace has tight integration with SCVMM 2008 R2 to allow for rapid and thin provisioning of virtual desktop hosted via SCVMM. This article shows you how.
Today I'm demonstrating rapid provisioning of Hyper-V Virtual Desktops using Quest vWorkspace and Microsoft System Center Virtual Machine Manager (VMM).
What this means is that instead of manually creating virtual machines, vWorkspace will automate the process from a single image and each VM will consume only a fraction of the disk space that the Parent Virtual Hard Disk consumes.
In this case my parent Windows 7 VM Template is 8.5GB in size, but the VMs I will provision will use up less than 1GB of disk space.
