Alltel Offers Web-based Remote Access, Conferencing From Citrix

An innovative alliance between Alltel, owner of America’s largest wireless network, and Citrix is bringing the convenience of Web-based remote PC access and collaboration services to Alltel’s business customers. Every Alltel customer who purchases a wireless PC data card will receive offers for Citrix® GoToMeeting™ and Citrix® GoToMyPC® on the installation CD or with download from alltel.com. With GoToMeeting, mobile workers can easily and securely collaborate with colleagues, demonstrate products and present information. With GoToMyPC, mobile users can access the full contents of their desktop PCs from Alltel’s Axcess MobileLink and Axcess Broadband networks using a laptop and PC data card or the UTStarcom PPC6700 Windows Mobile 5.0 device.

Axcess MobileLink lets customers use the Internet with bursts up to 144 Kbps and average speeds of 40 to 70 Kbps. Axcess Broadband features bursts up to 2.4 Mbps and average speeds of 400 to 700 Kbps, enabling high speed connections wirelessly.
