With all this Application Virtualization violence going on, it's hard to keep tabs on who's doing what. Ruben Spruijt did a comparison of the different application virtualization technologies about a year ago but this has become somewhat dated. Recently, I ran into a newer one.
The guys over at VirtualFuture.info have created a application virtualization chart. They came up with a comparison chart with the following products:
- Microsoft Softgrid
- VMware ThinApp
- Installfree Bridge
- Citrix Application streaming
- Symantec Appstream
- Xenocode Virtual Application Studio
They compare features in areas such as:
- Technology used
- Infrastructure requirements
- Packaging
- Deployment
- User Experience
- Pricing

Hi,
1.5 year ago I started with creating this Matrix. The application virtualization matrix is still up-to-date with the current release of virtualization solutions.
There are new players (InstallFree and Xenocode for example) in this marketspace and there will be product updates in the upcomming time.
My application virtualization matrix "revolutions" is in the 2.0 phase, I'll even showed this matrix @ BriForum. I'll just wait until all players have released their solutions and don't add Beta solutions in this list.
