Athena Thin Clients Introduces New Open Source Embedded Linux Using Debian 2.6
Friday, 02 March 2007 by Michel Roth
Athena engineers are the first to build a Linux Thin Client based on Debian kernel 2.6. This new Linux version carries the name NLX 5 where NLX stands for New LinuX. Athena will be the first Thin Client manufacturer to have not only an extremely powerful but also the most flexible Linux embedded operating system in the market today.

The main advantage of NLX 5 embedded Linux is to help further lowering Total Cost of Ownership by delivering superb efficiency, flexibility, ease of administration and better hardware support at a reasonable price.

Athena NLX 5 is available on all Athena Thin Client Models as well as on the popular IDE PC plug-in module, which now turns even more PC models into a Thin Client. Big news is that Athena is the very first Thin Client manufacturer to provide this complete Embedded Firmware suite including free powerful Remote Management Software (Athena famous TCMS) under OEM requirements to other Thin Client vendors.
