There are several NIC teaming technologies available today from switch vendors. Cisco uses the term “Fast EtherChannel.” Various switch vendors use various terms, and these may or may not provide the same exact functionality. Use of EtherChannel technology requires support from the server hardware vendor, NIC vendor, and Layer-2 switch vendor. Seamless Applications Cover the Local Taskbar on Windows XP and 2000 Professional Workstations On a Windows 2000 or XP Professional workstation, if the user auto hides the local taskbar and a seamless ICA session is run, the local taskbar is not accessible. If the seamless application is minimized, the local taskbar can be accessed. Session Sharing Fails in Pass-through Session Users connect to a desktop session using Program Neighborhood Client . Then in this pass-through session they use Program Neighborhood Agent to launch an application. Under the rules of session-sharing the second application should launch in the desktop session, that is, session sharing should take place. However, this is not the case and a new session is created on another server. ICA Session Closes Shortly After Connected With Presentation Server being install on Windows 2003, the user starts a session to either a published or custom, application or desktop using Program Neighborhood or Program Neighborhood Agent. After being connected for an undetermined amount of time, the session is dropped and the server has reset the connection.
