Converting VMware Virtual Appliances for Use with Virtual Iron

VMware started the Virtual Appliance craze and then Microsoft followed it up with what they called the Microsoft Test Drive program. VMware then came back on VMTN and "thanked" Microsoft for the Test Drive images, as VMware then added them into their Virtual Appliance Marketplace for others to download, convert and then run within one of VMware's virtualization products.

Now, Virtual Iron is joining in the fun, as they exclaim that Virtual Iron users can also get into the fun by converting and using VMware's virtual appliances within Virtual Iron's 3.1 product. The Virtual Iron blog site shows how you can use the VMDK to VHD converter tool to quickly and easily convert a VMware virtual appliance VMDK file into Microsoft's VHD format. The site shows, with just 4 easy steps, you can start running a large library of virtual appliances on your Virtual Iron system.
