I just got an email from Ericom stating that they have joined the popular freebee party in that they are offering a trimmed down, free version of their PowerTerm WebConnect For Windows Server 2008.
It is not exactly clear what features were pulled and which were not but this is the feature list that the press release mentions:
- Simplicity in setting up the environment and in ease of use
Within hours of installing PowerTerm WebConnect for Windows Server 2008 (installation in 15 minutes!), the Windows Server 2008 environment will be configured with applications published to the users.
- Simple to configure and manage
The application publishing process is straightforward and allows, in one process, the ability to publish dozens of applications to users, or groups of users. Application availability will be dynamically updated for all connected users immediately after the administrator has made changes to the application rights for the users and/or groups.
- Improved end-user environment
Applications will be dynamically available to users from PowerTerm WebConnect's Application Zone (a folder-like interface) on the desktop, from the Start Menu, from the Sys Tray and from PowerTerm WebConnect's Application Portal (web interface).
- Enhanced Security
PowerTerm WebConnect for Windows Server 2008 is fully integrated with Active Directory and allows deployment through different interfaces based on the group to which the user belongs.
Additional features include centralized management, logging, auditing and more.
