Flex EnvokeIT Logger
Wednesday, 26 July 2006 by Michel Roth
EnvokeIT has made an update to the Flex Framework vbscript from Login Consultants that handles the functions to backup and restore users’ settings at Logon and Logoff.

What does the Flex EnvokeIT Logger update provide? Have you ever wanted these type of questions answered in the Service Call created by your helpdesk or support technicians?

• Which server did the server log on to when the problem occurred?
• When did the user logon?
• Did the user get all Folder Redirections applied in the session when the problem occurred?
• Has the user even been able to logon after the error was reported to the helpdesk?

Today it’s not so simple for a helpdesk agent to gather this information without going to several sources like; Resource Manager, Event logs, MOM etc. What we did was to simply write a couple of functions that writes this information to logon and logoff logs every time the user logs on or off. And these logs can be saved to a share that both helpdesk agents and second, third level support have permissions to. And the number of log files that are saved is easily configurable.

Download the Flex EnvokeIT Logger update here.

Thanks to Wilco van Bragt for the pointer.
