How to Collect System Startup Traces with the CDF |
Thursday, 07 July 2005 by Michel Roth | |||
This document provides the steps required to capture a Common Diagnostic Facility (CDF) trace during system startup. Procedure Create a registry value under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Citrix\Tracing: Value Name: PersistentTraceLogPath Value Type: REG_SZ Value: Type the log path here. Note: The value typed for the log path should be a path, such as C:\LogFileDepot. Do not type the filename of the log file. The trace session name and trace log file name will always be CDF_PersistSession and CDF_PersistSession.etl, respectively. The log file will be stored at the path specified by the registry settings above. The trace path must be an existing path, it cannot be created at runtime. Read on here.
