Microsoft SoftGrid Virtual Lab

Microsoft has made available a "Microsoft SoftGrid Demonstration Virtual Lab". Definitely worth those 90 minutes of your time, especially if you're new to Softgrid. In this lab, you will be walked through a demonstration of:

• Zerotouch
• Softgrid For Microsoft Systems Center (SMS 2003)
• Vista Migration
• Softgrid Sequencing

Deploying Microsoft Windows Vista Operating System Images Using SMS 2003 Virtual Lab
You will learn how to:
• Install the SMS 2003 OS Deployment Feature Pack Update.
• Install USMT 3.0 to capture and restore user state information.

• Image a Windows Vista client computer.
• Import the Windows Vista image into an SMS 2003 image package.

Windows Vista Image Engineering
In this lab, learn to use Windows Image Manager (WIM) to automate the installation of a reference computer. Also, learn to create an image of a reference computer using Windows PE, Sysprep and ImageX. Finally, learn techniques for modifying WIM images without having to recapture an image of a reference computer.

Using System Image Manager to Automate Windows Vista Installations
In this lab you will learn to use Windows Image Manager to create a distribution share and create an Unattend.xml file to perform an automated Windows Vista Installation.
