MQ Technologies Free Tools Review
Wednesday, 11 June 2008 by Michel Roth
Recently I ran into a company called MQ Technologies. They offer a bunch of free tools to enhance your Terminal Server environments. I wanted to take a look at their tools but just never seem to have the time. Wilco van Bragt did.

There are three different freeware tools that MQ Technolgies offer: Remote Application Center, Remote Executer for Terminal Server and Remote File Transfer. Remote Application Center is a tool that you can use to create seamless windows in your Windows Server 2003 environment instead of only doing full desktops. Remote Executer for Terminal Server is a technology similar to Citrix'  Project Alice and RES Powerfuse's "Subscribed applications". What it allows you to do is to bring locally installed applications into your Terminal server session start menu and allow you to launch them from there. Of course they will still run on your client but it will look like it is running inside the published desktop. The last tool, Remote File Transfer, allows you to easily transfer files between your client and the Terminal Server without using client drive mapping.
