Multiframe 5 Review: PXEboot a Device into a Thin Client
Monday, 01 December 2008 by Michel Roth
Many organizations that are looking to do VDI or Terminal Services are planning to use Thin Clients in their environments. However, it is not uncommon that it is not (financially) desirable to replace all desktops with new Thin Client. That does not mean you can not reek the benefits of Thin Clients. You can PXE boot your old desktops to "turn them into Thin Clients". Multiframe is a program that allows you to do just this.

Perhaps the best part about Multiframe 5 is that is it free! Multiframe ia a complete framework for thin client management with a continued focus on the "shrinking" capabilities which turns nearly any ordinary x86 based computer into a secure, fast and highly reliable terminal. The client software in Multiframe is capable of connecting with a number of different terminal servers and mainframes through various protocols, e.g. Citrix ICA, Microsoft RDP, encrypted SSH, IBM 3270 and 5250, X11, NX, and ordinary web (www) connections.

Wilco van Bragt has written a lengthy review about Multiframe 5 .
