Neoware Teams Up With Solidcore |

Solidcore S3 Control Embedded software runs transparently on Neoware's thin client computers to prevent unauthorized, out-of-policy software changes that could cause system downtime. Because Solidcore solution prevents unwanted modifications to the Thin Client operating system, it makes sense that this product is primarely geared towards Windows XP Embedded thin clients. Solidcore S3 Control Embedded monitors and enforces the created software change control policies based on authorized updaters and approved maintenance time windows. Additionally, Solidcore provides zero-day security protection by ensuring only authorized software can run on the thin clients. Personally it sounds it bit like overkill to me. If a Thin Clients config is messed up, you just pick a new one of the shelf and you're done right? Why bother with creating security policies and then enforcing and logging them to prevent unauthorised code from running on the system? All the thing has to do is display a remote application, who cares!? Well, Neoware does. I'm sure there's a market out there for it but this has nothing to do with proper thin computing. I wonder what this new technology will in Neoware Thin Clients will be called: Neocare?...
