New Version of RDS Application Analyzer
Tuesday, 18 August 2009 by Michel Roth
Several changes have been made to the RDS Application Analyzer to fix various issues reported by users over the last few months.

Application Compatibility is the term given to the collection of issues which prevent an application from executing satisfactorily in a given environment. In this specific instance, the environment is the Windows Terminal Services (TS) Platform. TS is deployed for a variety of reasons such as reducing total cost of operation (TCO), better security & compliance, enabling mobility, etc. While most 32-bit and 64-bit applications run “as is” on Windows Terminal Services, several others do not perform as expected due to the difference in the platform (multi-user environment, concurrent access by multiple users etc.). The TS App Compat Connect program is aimed at providing content and tools to address application compatibility issues and to enable you to readily deploy your applications on TS.

Firstly, RDS Application Analyzer has some compatibility issues with App Verifier 4.0. This has been resolved by using App Verifier 3.4 as a default.

Fixed problems in XP environment. This issue is also fixed. Now you should be able to use the RDS Application Analyzer on Microsoft Windows XP and Windows 2003 as well.
