RES PowerFuse 8 Review
Saturday, 22 December 2007 by Michel Roth
Wilco van Bragt has done a review of RES PowerFuse 8. RES PowerFuse 8 is RES' most recent incarnation of their user management Powerfuse product. I've worked with the earlier versions of the product and version 8 introduces a truckload of new features. The most important change is that Powerfuse 8 is much more mature: enterprise-ready. The file share and multiple databases are history. There's only one database. I think they will need it. Group Policy Preferences will prove to be a worthy adversary at least.

Wilco seems like Powerfuse 8.0: "In summary, the new version is really a big improvement, although there are some new considerations such as the synchronization interval and the replication of databases. It is also a pity that you can configure multiple configuration sets for some components like Performance Management out of the GUI. There is a ADM template based on Current User setting available, which overwrites the default PowerFuse Settings. In combination with PowerZones you can configure more sets, but I would like to see this option within the GUI it selves preferable. Also, if you compare similar products you will still find features that are better implemented in one of those products.
