Session Stays In Active State After User Logs Off
Saturday, 02 July 2005 by Michel Roth
Symptoms
When certain users close a published application the session does not log off and stays in an active state. These users get a new session when they log on afterwards.

Cause
Certain printer drivers (for example, some Epson ink jets) create a printer management icon in the notification area of the taskbar. When the user tries to log off this cannot be removed and the session stays active on the server. To confirm this issue, open a session without the suspected printer. It should log off normally.

Work Around

Remove this printer or have it auto-created with the Universal Printer Driver (UPD).
