Those of you have visited this years iForum in Vegas, might also have visited the tech labs associated with. Citrix was there showcasing their "Multimedia virtualization".

In a blog post Derek Thorslund mentions all the demos that Citrix had for this tech lab. Al though "multimedia virtualization" sounds very sexy, it's also a vague term. Looking at the description of the features Citrix is flexing their mucles on, it's almost entirely about making graphically intense applicatons look decent in a Citrix session. Here's some of the demos Derek mentions:

• SpeedScreen Progressive Display
• SpeedScreen Multimedia Acceleration on Windows Server 2008
• OpenGL acceleration
• Vista Aero theme support
• Vista Aero desktop remoting
• WPF and DirectX application remoting
• "Ulysses" audio codec
• Cisco VoIP softphone on Presentation Server
