TS Web Access With Silverlight
Friday, 04 January 2008 by Michel Roth
Well this does not happen very often. The Citrix Web Interface has been along for quite some time now and still it does not really particularly flashy. The next version of Citrix Web Interface should look a lot better (check out my article on Presentation Server Delaware for more information). Knowing all this, you would think that the first incarnation of Web Access to Terminal Services would look kind of lame because, let's face it, Microsoft products usually do not have the "wow-factor" that Apple for example has. Well, in a default installation of Windows Server 2008, TS Web Access does indeed look kind of boring. Check it out:

But today I ran into something that made my jaw drop. It's a very cool version of TS Web Access using Microsoft Silverlight (Microsoft's own Flash). Check it out (the live version is animated so all the icons scroll in the depicted "circle"):

This Beta of TS Web Access using Silverlight was created by Narenda Wicaksono of Microsoft Indonesia. This setup is quite complex in that it uses Silverlight, XAML, JavaScript, ASPX, and ServerControl.

You can download the beta and try it on your own RC1 server. While you wait, check out a live TS Web Access with Silverlight page.
