TSBADAPP: Manage Application Compatibility Flags on Win2K/Win2k3/Win2k8 Terminal Server
Monday, 16 November 2009 by Michel Roth
Ctrl-Alt-Del Consultancy has released yet another pretty cool tool called TSBADAPP. It allows you to manage Application Compatibility Flags on Win2K/Win2k3/Win2k8 Terminal Server and Citrix Servers.

This utility was written for the purpose of allowing administrators to tune 'bad' applications that run on Win2K/Win2k3/Win2k8 Terminal Server and Citrix Servers. By applying specific registry entries to application executables, an application may be configured to function correctly in a Terminal Server or Citrix environment. TSBADAPP has been written as a GUI interface to assist administrators in setting the compatibility flags which can help tune and control an application's performance.

TSBADAPP has been written using the registry values and controls as detailed in Microsoft
Articles Q186628 and Q198060, and Citrix Articles CTX846521 and CTX086028. TSBADAPP has tooltips to assist the administrator on understanding what each setting does. ALL
Settings should be applied with caution. Applied correctly, these settings may enhance an
application's performance. Applied incorrectly, these settings may adversely effect the
Terminal Server performance.
