Tuesday, 05 December 2006 by Michel Roth | |||
The enterprise solution proposed and awarded to Emergent OnLine includes VMware Virtual Infrastructure, Provision Networks, and Microsoft SoftGrid at the core. The virtualized infrastructure will enable the DoD agency to securely deploy on-demand virtualized applications and desktops to users regardless of location, simplifying enterprise desktop management and delivering a dynamic desktop deployment experience. Emergent OnLine designed, architected and piloted the winning solution and showcased the seamless integration of the three core technologies proposed. The DoD agency will be able to virtualize application and desktop publishing with Provision Networks technologies, stream the applications to virtualized desktops hosted on VMware Virtual Infrastructure or Provision Networks terminal servers with Microsoft SoftGrid technologies, and host the entire virtualized infrastructure in secure data centers on the VMware platform. Beyond the simplified desktop management and dynamic desktop deployment benefits, the solution affords the agency better mobility, security, control, and business continuity. Full press release here.
