Wyse streams PC features to thin clients
Thursday, 23 March 2006 by Michel Roth

Wyse Technology has launched a product designed to provide thin client users with a full-featured desktop PC environment.

Ricardo Antuna, vice-president of product line management at Wyse, said Wyse Streaming Manager (WSM) allowed IT administrators to take advantage of the security, manageability and cost benefits of thin computing while providing a rich user experience.

WSM uses Windows Server-based services that independently stream the operating system and applications. It offers an image-creation tool for IT administrators to create and deploy operating system images, an application packager that allows IT administrators to create and deploy application images, and a centralised web-based interface.

The company is also collaborating with VMware to deliver enhanced virtual desktop computing software.
