Wyse Teams Up With Novell
Tuesday, 07 August 2007 by Michel Roth
Wyse has announced that it has certified their Thin Clients for use with Novells Thin Client solution: SUSE Linux Enterprise Thin Client. This partnership with Novell allows Wyse to bring to market a second line of Linux based Thin Clients (they already have their own Linux flavour). As said, these new Linux based Wyse Thin Clients will be based upon Novells SUSE Linux Enterprise. SUSE Linux Enterprise Thin Client provides easy configuration and management of desktop operating system images. It simplifies desktop management tasks such as application updates by maintaining applications on the server.

It looks like this solution allows you to maintain several customized SUSE Linux images. When looking at the website, it seems that Wyse isn't alone in working together with Novell. As it turns out, Wyses biggest competitor, HP (since the acquisition of Neoware), also is working Novell on their SUSE Linux Enterprise Thin Client.
