XenDesktop - A First Look
Wednesday, 14 November 2007 by Michel Roth
XenDesktop Server was released after some delay almost a week ago, so now the first results are coming in. A guy named Gareth James has written down some of his experiences.

Sometimes a picture says more than a thousand words right? This screen, to me, in one picture illustrates the huge potential Citrix has in delivering an end-to-end application delivery solution. I think they are in a unique position to do this. IF they do it right, that is. Anyway, enough about what I think, this post is about Gareth James' thinks about XenDesktop Server uptill now:

"..I find it more intuitive than the previous "Desktop Server" incarnation. This bit is essentially the broker bit - and it has all the bits you expect - including shared pools, assigned workstations and assigned on first use. Exactly the same as you get from VDM2/Silverstone.

You create a Xendesktop farm paralell to your Citrix Farm and publish the desktop, it all integrates really neatly into Web Interface."
